Forest Sanctuary

Get Involved

Come lend a hand in the garden, at a workday, or at a gathering — neighbors nourishing neighbors.

Forest Sanctuary runs on shared labor and freely given time. There is no membership, no fee, and no requirement — only an open invitation to show up, learn something, and leave the place a little better than you found it.

A few ways to join in, depending on what suits you.

Workdays in the garden

Get your hands in the soil

Join a Saturday workday — planting, weeding, hauling, building beds. No experience needed; we teach as we go. Bring water and gloves; we bring the seeds and the tools. Come once or come every week — either is welcome.

Come to a gathering

Neighbors, food, and quiet

Through the season we gather for shared meals, harvests, and the turning of the year — a potluck, a planting day, a solstice. The door is open; you belong the moment you walk in.

Music & quiet

Sing, listen, practice

Come sing at a community sing-in, take voice lessons, or book the sanctuary to practice between seven and seven, April through October. The room is good to make music in, and all are welcome.

Domestic arts

Cooking, craft, and making

Bread baking, preserving the harvest, quilting, mending — the quiet skills of keeping a home. Bring what you know and learn what you don't, in good company.
